Ladies, don’t let your next trip get canceled before it even starts! Starting May 7, 2025, the TSA will require a REAL ID or other federally approved ID to board domestic flights. If your driver’s license doesn’t have a gold or black star in the corner, it’s time to upgrade!
What Is REAL ID?
REAL ID is a government-issued identification that meets higher security standards. Without it, your regular license won’t get you through TSA checkpoints for domestic flights or into certain federal buildings.
How to Check If You Have REAL ID:

✅ Look for a gold or black star on your driver’s license 🚫 If your ID says “Federal Limits Apply,” it’s not REAL ID compliant
How to Get Your REAL ID:
Head to your DMV with:
Proof of identity (passport or birth certificate)
Social Security number (card or W-2)
Two proof of residency documents (utility bill, bank statement, or lease)
Don’t Want a REAL ID?
No worries! You can still fly domestically with:
U.S. Passport
Global Entry Card
Military ID
Other TSA-approved forms of identification (check tsa.gov for the full list)
Final Thoughts: Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute!
The May 7, 2025 deadline will be here before you know it, and we all know how things go when folks wait until the last minute—long lines, processing delays, and unnecessary stress.
So, do yourself a favor: Check your ID today, gather your documents, and handle your business now. That way, when it’s time to catch your next flight, the only thing you need to worry about is which cute airport fit you’re rocking!
